Within the sloped topography of Kebele, Gedeb, you'll find the Boledu Washing Station; a processing facility used by over 900 local coffee farmers.
In 2018, Boledu Industrial purchased the washing station after recurring issues within the infrastructure had led the local farmers facing lower than average prices for their coffee despite the premium quality.
Changes to the operations proved to be an instant success. Improved integration with local out-growers gave way to a better connected Washing Station, resulting in an increased uptake with the local farmers, a higher degree of traceability from lot to lot, and the achievement of organic certification guarantee a price premium for those who use the Boledu Washing Station.
Each season sees increased use and thus allows for more investment in not only the local facilities, but has now allowed for the construction of a local school and a brand new clinic to continue improving the lives of the farmers and workers.
This lot, Halo Beriti, is quintessentially Ethiopian. A highly complex cup with blueberry and peach notes harmoniously balanced with each other followed by a long apricot blossom finish.
