Kii is brought to us by Vava Coffee, owned by the extraordinary, Vava Angwenyi. We recently caught up with Vava at a cupping in London, sampling an array of exciting and spectacular coffees from this year's harvest.
For those who know Vava, you'll know just how incredible she is. Vava's capacity to inspire is boundless. Before the cupping started, Vava reminds us "there's no such thing as a typical Kenyan coffee, just as there's no such thing as a typical Kenyan".
The Kii Factory, alongside the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society, has been building its strong reputation for quality since 1953, and we strongly believe that some of the best lots of the Kirinyaga region can be found at this factory.
Grown and harvested in the foothills of Mount Kenya, this perfect growing environment allows the SL28 and SL34 varietals to flourish and develop into an excellent final product. The lots typically burst with fruit flavours and complex acidity.
