Social Impact
As a social enterprise, our primary mission is to help reduce homelessness in the UK through training and employment within speciality coffee.
65% of the profits we generate are reinvested into our barista training programme.
Whether that's assisting our head roaster at our roastery or working in one of our cafes as a barista, we're committed to supporting our trainees from training to employment.
Sustainability
We've made a commitment to plant a tree for every 1kg bag of coffee that we sell, through our partnership with the Eden Reforestation Project.

Sourcing Quality Coffee
We ensure the coffees we serve are as fresh and seasonal as possible to showcase the wonderful diversity of flavours and aromas found in different coffees around the world.
We also have a strong focus on quality. Higher quality means a better price for the farmer, so it is very important that we continue to work with the producers that consistently supply us with high scoring coffees. This helps them secure a higher price which is often 4 - 5 times higher than the Fairtrade minimum.
ABOut KONGO
Kongo Coffee Ltd. is a locally owned coffee export company. Based primarily in Simbu province, it has been in operation for twenty years. Kongo have been working together for almost as long. The company is involved in coffee buying, processing, roasting and exporting. Fundamental to Kongo Coffee’s business practices is to be involved in community and social activities related to improving the lives of all contributing smallholders and their families.
Over the years Kongo have been supporting several schools across the Simbu province. This includes funding for building development, resources, and school fee scholarships. In 2012, an Elementary school was officially named ‘Jerry Kapka Elementary School’ in honour of the company’s support for schools and education in the community.
As well as their contribution to education amongst the community, Kongo Coffee Ltd also contribute to local sports teams, TV broadcasting, food schemes and built a community centre.
We are extremely excited to be working with Kongo to continue to grow the reputation of coffee from this incredible origin.
