Impact — Barista Training Programme

Social impact through coffee

Here at Old Spike, impact is at the core of everything we do. This encompasses sustainability, environmental and social — the latter being the core mission of our business and achieved through our training programme. 

As a social enterprise, the majority of our profits are reinvested into initiatives to support our impact, namely our specialty barista training programme which aims to reduce homelessness in the UK by supporting those affected into long-term employment or education. Beyond training

Our training programme is ultimately there to support and facilitate trainees back into long-term employment or further education. Although employment is the overall goal for us and the trainees, the initiative also provides individuals with benefits and key learnings which they can carry with them through life. From CV development and interview preparation to increased confidence, work readiness and, of course, barista skills.
